Prompting basics: role, task, context, check
Most disappointing answers come from a vague question. Four parts fix almost all of them.
Role
Who it should be: “You are an operations manager in a care group.”
Task
Exactly what you want back, how long, and in what shape.
Context
Paste the material it needs, and your working-context note.
Check
Ask it to list what it assumed or guessed, so you can see where to look.
Then iterate
Tell it what’s useful and what’s wrong. The second answer is usually better.
