Session 1 · Assignment

Set up your AI workspace

Use your AI assistant on a real piece of your own work: a working assistant with your own instructions saved.

The brief

Read the brief

What you’ll submit: A working assistant with your own instructions saved, a short reflection and the declaration.
How it’s assessed: Johnnie reviews your work and gives feedback. Resubmit as often as you need.
Hours: One and a half guided learner hours, counted when you handed it in on 11 January.

Work information only. Please only use information you are allowed to use at work.

Output

A working assistant with your own instructions saved, built from your own work rather than a made-up example.

Why it helps. This is work you do anyway. Doing it once with the assistant, and checking what it gives you, shows you where it saves time and where you still need to look closely.

Steps

Start a new chat and paste your working-context note from session 1.
Click Copy prompt, paste it in, and add the material the assistant needs.Only paste information you are allowed to use at work.
Work through the assistant’s questions, one at a time.
Check what comes back: two facts or figures by hand, and the tone read aloud. If it can’t say where something came from, treat it as unchecked.
Ask it to fix what’s wrong, then copy the final version into a document.
Paste it into the box below.

Prompt

I'm working on this: a working assistant with your own instructions saved. Use my working-context note for background. Before you start, ask me any questions you need to understand what I'm trying to do. Ask them one at a time. When you've finished, list anything you assumed or guessed so I can check it.

What accepted looks like

It’s real work from your own job, with anything private taken out
It does the job: a working assistant with your own instructions saved
You checked it, and say what the assistant got wrong and what you changed
A colleague could pick it up tomorrow and use it

A working assistant with your own instructions saved.

What I did: I used my assistant on a real piece of my own work, checked the draft line by line and rewrote the two parts it guessed at.

Reflection

The first draft was close but it guessed at two details; I checked them and fixed one. Next time I’ll give it the source material up front so it doesn’t have to guess.

AI coach · first read, not the mark · Monday 11 January, 6:32pm
You did this on real work from your own job: a working assistant with your own instructions saved. That is the part that matters most, and it reads clearly.
One thing to tighten: say where the assistant got something wrong and what you changed. A sentence or two at the end of your reflection would cover it.
A question to think about: what happens the first time it meets a case you did not plan for?

Hand in again · version 2

Every version is kept. It stays accepted until Johnnie marks the new one.

Before you submit. Remove anything you would not share outside your organisation. You can ask Claude to help, then double-check it yourself.

Only Johnnie and the training provider see what you hand in.
