How do I stop the assistant inventing numbers when I ask for a forecast?
AI coach
Give it the data, not a description of the data, and ask it to show its working: “use only the figures in the table; list which months you used.” Then check two of the numbers yourself. The guide on checking the AI’s work has a ten-minute routine.

And if my company won’t let me paste real figures in?
AI coach
Make a practice table with the same columns and made-up numbers, get the method right on that, then do the real sum yourself in your spreadsheet. If you’re not sure what you’re allowed to share, raise your hand and ask.
